ABOUT SERENDIPITY MAKRAMEE
Hi there, I'm Julia! I'm a Brazilian woman with a passion for Arts and Crafts. I moved to Vienna in 2016 because of a job, but ever since I have been dedicating myself more and more to my creative side.
I've been expressing my creativity through Macrame, an ancient fiber art technique that consists of making knots to create geometric patterns and transform them into very versatile pieces of art.
Some of the products that I do include wall decorations, handbags, plant hangers, jewelry, yoga mat bags and straps, but this technique allows you to create so much more!
All my products are made with 100% recycled cotton.
I also offer workshops where I teach you the basic knots of Macrame, as well as how to create beautiful and unique pieces.
I hope you enjoy my work and this beautiful art of knots as much as I do!

DO YOU KNOW WHAT SERENDIPITY MEANS?
One could describe it as "finding something good without looking for it" or as "the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way", but a short and simple way to explain it is just as a happy coincidence.
Although I think it means so much more, I just wanted to share with you because it's my favourite word and it originated the name of my label.
Since this word has been following me for years, when I started thinking about names for my business I just knew it had to be it! Maybe it was just another serendipity...
Our lives are full of serendipities, sometimes we just have to take a closer look.
STANDARD 100 BY OEKO-TEX® COTTON
I take a lot of care when choosing the materials I'm going to work with. The cotton I use to create my pieces is 100% recycled and OEKO-TEX® certified, which means it is produced without any toxic and/or chemical products, including dyes.
When working with cord, it is inevitable that some small particles of cotton are loosen in the air. Those particles can end up being breathed, therefore it is very important for me, not only choosing materials that have the least environmental impact possible, but that are also harmless to our health.
If a cotton carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that they were tested at every production level and do not contain any substances that are harmful for our health. They may be safely used in products for toddlers and people with allergies.
I'll teach you the basic knots of Macrame so you keep on creating by yourself!
DO YOU WANT TO LEARN MACRAME?
Within my workshops, I'll teach you the basic knots of Macrame while we create either a Plant Hanger or a Wall Hanging together. The idea is for you to learn the knots and a few tipps and tricks so you can be able to create your own unique pieces.
There are fixed dates for Workshops (check out the Upcoming Workshops section below) but you can also have a private workshop just for you and your friends. Just get in touch with me and we can arrange a date!
All the materials are provided so you don't have to worry about anything - just bring your creativity and exctiment to learn and create something beautiful.
At the end of each workshop, it is also possible to purchase the materials for you to keep on creating on your own!
